Discourse Grammar of the New Testament

Though I’m not done with it (about 2/3 right now), I’m enjoying reading through Steven Runge’s Discourse Grammar of the New Testament. Just want to make clear not everything I read is frivolous! I find many of his observations make a lot of sense to me – the notion that linguistics offers important insights for how we explain the communication of the New Testament (and that it is more complex than simply figuring out the best English translation) seems spot on. I’ve been taking a chapter a day when I can find time – I’m looking forward to processing this further as I work with it more.
