Tangled Web

Have been working on the latest installment in the 1632 series created by Eric Flint: 1635: The Tangled Web by Virginia DeMarce. I have enjoyed most of the series and there are some religious themes that are interesting. A couple of things from the afterword by Flint:

1) The series is already sketched out to over 20 volumes (not counting a bunch of electronic short story collections)

2) Flint discusses how the series reflects the messiness of history; by the virtue of multiple story lines, etc. it can avoid the “great man” emphasis (or at least limit it) and reflect the actual messiness of history. I think there is something quite right about this emphasis.
